Located in Puxley, a small hamlet in South Northamptonshire, this site is currently a redundant collection of agricultural buildings which lies adjacent to a Grade II Listed farmhouse.  The buildings are a mix of traditional stone structures with slate roofs which date back to the 19th century and a number of modern steel and concrete portal frame buildings.

Our proposed development, which was granted planning consent this week, creates a new home with a gross internal floor area of approximately 4,000 square feet, including the reconstruction of the existing stone buildings and a number of new extensions.  The sensitivity of the site was a key factor of the design process, in particular respecting the existing structures, associated habits and character of the surrounding area.

The appearance of the proposal has been carefully considered in order to create a synthesis between the contemporary and traditional  elements of the design. This has been achieved by retaining a number of the existing external features whilst also introducing large contemporary glazed openings throughout the design.
