Located within a predominantly residential area, this site on Caves Lane was a former student residence approximately one mile to the East of Bedford town centre.
The scheme consists of a selection of different sized residential units including a two bed bungalow, seven 3 bed and two 4 bed 2-storey homes.
The architectural form and the relationship between the houses and the street relate to the existing properties found on Caves Lane and Crediton Close. This enhances the seamless integration of the proposed residential units with the existing street scenes.
The site layout of the proposed development creates an efficient use of the site, responding to the local context and was further developed through discussions with the council and through local resident consultation
Planning consent for the development was granted in 2012 and the houses were completed in 2013.
