This project involved very significant additions to a listed farmhouse in the attractive village of Thornborough.

The scheme has been developed as a series of barn sized extensions, using matching or similar materials, to respect the scale and context of the existing group of buildings. A hierarchy of levels and roof pitches have been used successfully to allow the new additions to step down and away from the farmhouse.

Materials and details have been carefully chosen and designed to complement and/or match those of the existing property. The theme of coursed limestone walls, appropriate fenestration and tiled roofs ties together the different elements allowing the introduction of naturally finished timbers and large areas of glazing. The new accommodation includes an indoor swimming pool, kitchen, family and play area and a master bedroom suite
